I purchased the same size as the underwear I buy and the waist just fits over my thighs. They fit fine on my waist but do not stretch as I pull them over my thighs. I wore them to sleep the evening they arrived. While they are very comfortable, especially during warm evenings, the cut of the short leaves something to be desired. I have wider hips than my waist and regularly need a fuller cut in shorts. Normally Jockey provides that type of cut, unless otherwise noted in the description.
