I took the plunge and am so glad I did, let me describe it to you. The "tri-panel" design means there is tight spandex-y central section that holds/shapes your midsection well, then a very soft cotton jersey fabric top+straps, and the same soft jersey fabric at the bottom. The spandex shaping part runs all the way from under your bra to the top of your pants or just below, where all the shaping is needed. The extra 2-3 inches of cotton fabric extending from the bottom is wonderful so when it's tucked into your pants it is grippy and keeps the shapewear tank down and in place, it will not rise up as tight spandex things often like to do. Also the top scoop-neck dips low enough it is fully hidden under all my shirts... though it's low enough that you really cannot use it as a camisole under something lower cut without showing off quite a bit of skin. Whoever designed this tank is awesome! Also I'm glad I read other comments that it runs a size big, so I went down a size and it's perfect. I'm tall (5'9) and it's long enough for me. I took the plunge and am so glad I did, let me describe it to you. The "tri-panel" design means there is tight spandex-y central section that holds/shapes your midsection well, then a very soft cotton jersey fabric top+straps, and the same soft jersey fabric at the bottom. The spandex shaping part runs all the way from under your bra to the top of your pants or just below, where all the shaping is needed. The extra 2-3 inches of cotton fabric extending from the bottom is wonderful so when it's tucked into your pants it is grippy and keeps the shapewear tank down and in place, it will not rise up as tight spandex things often like to do. Also the top scoop-neck dips low enough it is fully hidden under all my shirts... though it's low enough that you really cannot use it as a camisole under something lower cut without showing off quite a bit of skin. Whoever designed this tank is awesome! Also I'm glad I read other comments that it runs a size big, so I went down a size and it's perfect. I'm tall (5'9) and it's long enough for me.
