Product Is No Longer a Classic
The dimensions of your "Classic Brief" have changed over the years. The original "Classic Brief" which I have been purchasing since 1970 have been 30" waist, 11-1/2" rise and 5-1/2" sideseam. The new "Classic Brief" measures 30" waist, 12-1/2" rise and 7-3/4" sideseam. The waistband shows over my jeans, and it feels like I have to pull them up to my armpits. I tried the "Classic Low-rise Brief" but it errs in the other direction - with the "Classic Low-rise Brief" I need a 32" waist because it rides too low, rise is a short 10-1/2" (compared to the 11-1/2" rise I'm used to, and the sideseam is a short 4-3/4" (compared to the 5-1/2" I'm used to). Please don't hijack the term "classic"; be honest about the changed product.

Quality is gone
Been buying and wearing Jockey shorts shice I was a kid and I have never seen the waistband elastic fall apart before now. All but the white waistbanded colors have failed within the first couple of washings. I have had shorts survive more than 100 wash/dry cycles before they would start to show waistband puckering or elastic failure. This last set ordered started to fail after the first wash and dry cycle. This will be the last Jockey product this family ever buys. Not sure who makes a better product but someone has to and they will get my business.

classic does not hold up like before
I have worn jockey underwear since I came out if diapers....mom would buy my underwear at the start of the school year and it would last through school track football practices and everything else I was in.....nowadays the waistband after just a months worth of wear the waistband looks like fried bacon it's got so many wrinkles in....the white elastic in the waistband has broken and is showing through making the brief too loose in the waist to wear. I am a size 36 and order the same in my briefs...they are great until they start coming apart in the waistband. please fix I am not gonna keep spending good money on poor craftsmanship

BEST FULL COVERAGE BRIEFS ON THE MARKET
One review stated "Who knew underwear could be fun?"
I DEFINITELY DID . . .
Another reviewer wrote "The horizontal fly on the inside
was very uncomfortable and awkward for him"
I TOTALLY DISAGREE

When it all comes down yo Jockey Full Coverage Briefs
with the inverted (upside down) Y design, they are the
Ultimate Fashion Statement in Men's underclothes.
The quality of the fabric, the way that I feel when I am wearing them, and the way they fit my physique are ALL
reasons why I keep these on auto-delivery. They are also FUN to wear as well as being photographed in. (Yes . . .
I do model for print advertising locally). Jockey Full Coverage Briefs with the Inverted Y design on the outside
and the Horizontal Fly on the inside combine to give me
total comfort and superb functionality . . . They are great for any and all daily routine activities including traveling, sleeping, and raking leaves or mowing the lawn . . . Just to name a few. They are available in packages of 3 pairs and a variety of Fashion Colors, too. The only time I am NOT wearing these is when I am working out or at a stadium.

Does not fit as expected
I have bought many Jockey classic briefs over the years as a repeat, satisfied user. But this batch (same size and model I purchased about 3 years ago) is too big and loose (and I am the same size!) does not give the snug support I have always liked.
Is it possible that what i received was mis- labeled??
February 21, 2011
NOT AS ADVERTISED
Inconsistent size and cut from item to item.
Says "low rise" but are closer to "high rise" causing a sloppy fit.
Three different packages, three different cuts. One was proper fit but the other two the "rise" was far too high. This is true of the last two packages I received. I am very disapointed. I have to fold the waistband over to get the crotch and legs up high enough to be a correct fit.

Great brief
Been wearing these since I was 12(over 30 years).Have many other Jockey styles in my wardrobe yet these are still one of my favorites. These are great for wearing a siut, tucking in a t-shirt or just wearing jeans. The y-front pouch is very comfortable without being constrictive.Ladies think they look great if you have a flat stomach. So much for the myth about gals not liking tighty whities on their men.

This will be my regular purchase
I have been a fruit of the loom person for years. After trying Jockey, I am convinced I've been wearing the wrong brand all this time. Glad I decided to try Jockey.

First purchase from Jockey.com
First time ordering from Jockey.com. I have been a Jockey guy all my life ... but ordered a 6 pack of the Clasic Brief... it was my birthday and I was offered a discount as well as free shipping so I thought what the heck ... waited for delivery ... tracked online and when at work on the day of delivery i tracked the package and it said " left at door' so when I got home .. no package !! I called UPS to open a claim .. they suggest I call Jockey to advise .. when I talked to the Jockey rep and explained the situation ... she empathized and said we will send you a replacement package ASAP .. and she did and it arrived perfectly .... so great customer service from the Jockey rep ...

Size label in current briefs states "large." What number size does this equate?
A shopper on Aug 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi! Thank you for your question, our standard size large measures a 36-38. In the classic brief you will want to go with the 36 or 38 dependent on where fit in the large size range.

Jockey® Classic Brief - 5 Pack
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The primary difference is that our style 9995 features a 5 pack quantity, and our style 9017 features a 6 pair quantity. The price for the 9995 is reduced because it features the old packaging that we're clearancing. Hope this helps!

BEST ANSWER: The pack I received was all solid colors. While i generally wear the sport boxer briefs or boxer briefs they the classic briefs where on sale at a great price.
how do the 9017 differ from the 9950?
Stephen Nesta on Sep 4, 2014
Jockey® Classic Brief - 6 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 6 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 3 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 3 Pack
BEST ANSWER: Hi Stepehen, the style number 9017 and 9950 are the same garment. We are currently clearancing the 9017 (the 6 pack) because we are focusing more on the 3 packs then the 6 packs. I would suggest picking up the 9017 with the reduced price. With prices like that they are going to fly off the shelfs!
Are these solid colored briefs?
A shopper on Sep 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi, yes these are solid colored briefs. The waistband will always be white even on the colored briefs. The brief itself is not patterned.
I'm looking at the style 9017 men's briefs. I do not like the low rise or the full rise styles. I want what used to be the standard rise brief. Is this the style 9017?
Charles W on Dec 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the standard rise and full rise are the same rise and the low rise is signifigantly lower in the rise. We do not currently offer a mid rise garment.
size small? why does Jockey not make size small (28-30) pouch briefs or classic/low rise classic briefs?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you so much for your question. Unfortunately, there is not as much of a demand for a size Small as there is for the other sizes, so we have limited the number of styles we offer in a size Small. I have made a suggestion to our design team that we start manufacturing this size again because there is a demand for it. They often do rely on the feedback and suggestions we receive from customers to determine which styles and sizes we should produce.
I bought a 3 pack and they shrunk a lot?
Does this usually happen?
A shopper on Sep 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi, we do not use pre-shrunk or condensed cotton, typically a garment will shrink 10-14% after the first 3 washings. Even thogh the product does shrink we do account for this in production and they should fit perfectly after they are washed. Please call one of our personal shoppers at 1-800-562-5391 to return or exchange the garment.

do the leg openings have elastic? the ones I now own stretch to a very loose and uncomfortable size.
A shopper on Aug 21, 2015

What is the difference between Jockey Classic #9950 and #9017 - aside from 3-pack and 6-pack? Thanks, Russ
Russ R on Oct 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi Russ, the style numbers 9950 and 9017 are the same garments. The 9950 is a 3 pack and has more color variety, whereas, the 9017 is a 6 pack and has less color selection but are sold at a lower price point.
I have the same issues as the person writing this review that I copied from your reviews (see below). Why did you change the dimensions of the classic briefs??? I can not purchase a low rise in 42" waist but your classics (as described below) seem to come up to your arm pits... Why did you do this.?? I have purchased Jockeys for over 40 years and now have to buy Dockers to get something close to what fits properly. The rise and side seam are way to high now and you don't offer low rise in 42" How about bringing back the classics so I can one again wear a decent pair of briefs???

Thank You, Mark.

I got these as an early Christmas gift. initial wearing was fine, but one wash and they shrunk so much i can't wear them comfortably! They are a size large and i'm a 33" waist which according to the size chart here should be fine. very disappointing for such a name brand. There is no type of satisfaction guarantee policy for jockey?
eddieras on Dec 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm sorry to hear that our Jockey Classic Brief shrunk as you mentioned in your question. If you'd like to give one of our Personal Shoppers a call at 1-800-JOCKEY-1 (800-562-5391) we would be more than happy to discuss this matter further with you. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
What is the difference between full rise and classic briefs? Is classic rise the normal size? I bought a package of 'full rise' briefs from a local retailer and returned them because they came up to my navel. I have worn Jockey briefs for 50 years and have never had this problem. (I tried the low rise but those were like bikinis!). I only see 'full rise' or 'low rise' in the shops. But I do not see 'full rise' here on the web-site.
A shopper on Oct 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you vey much for your email, and I do apologize for the confusion. The underwear that is listed as Jockey Classic Briefs on Jockey.com are going to be the same as the Jockey Full Rise Briefs. The Jockey Classic Briefs have the full rise waist. Hope this helps.
is the waistband also 100 % cotton?
william f on Sep 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you very much for your question. The waistband on our Jockey Classic Brief is actually made from elastic, not cotton. Hope this helps.
What are the recommended washing instructions for colored briefs?
A shopper on Jun 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Below is a link that you can use to translate the universal care symbols. You can use this not only for all of your Jockey products, but for any other apparel you may happen to have: http://www.textileaffairs.com/lguide.htm. For our cotton styles you will want to machine wash warm, use nonchlorine bleach only, tumble dry medium and wash with like colors. Thank you for your question!
Does the gray classic brief have a white waistband? It outlasts the colored (black) waistband.
A shopper on Jun 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! At this time our gray classic full rise brief does feature a black waistband. If you find that your waistband does not hold up, I would like to encourage you to give one of our Personal Shoppers a call at 1-800-JOCKEY-1 (800-562-5391) and we can discuss this matter further! Thank you for your patience and understanding.
