Product Is No Longer a Classic
The dimensions of your "Classic Brief" have changed over the years. The original "Classic Brief" which I have been purchasing since 1970 have been 30" waist, 11-1/2" rise and 5-1/2" sideseam. The new "Classic Brief" measures 30" waist, 12-1/2" rise and 7-3/4" sideseam. The waistband shows over my jeans, and it feels like I have to pull them up to my armpits. I tried the "Classic Low-rise Brief" but it errs in the other direction - with the "Classic Low-rise Brief" I need a 32" waist because it rides too low, rise is a short 10-1/2" (compared to the 11-1/2" rise I'm used to, and the sideseam is a short 4-3/4" (compared to the 5-1/2" I'm used to). Please don't hijack the term "classic"; be honest about the changed product.

This will be my regular purchase
I have been a fruit of the loom person for years. After trying Jockey, I am convinced I've been wearing the wrong brand all this time. Glad I decided to try Jockey.

Great brief
Been wearing these since I was 12(over 30 years).Have many other Jockey styles in my wardrobe yet these are still one of my favorites. These are great for wearing a siut, tucking in a t-shirt or just wearing jeans. The y-front pouch is very comfortable without being constrictive.Ladies think they look great if you have a flat stomach. So much for the myth about gals not liking tighty whities on their men.

Quality is gone
Been buying and wearing Jockey shorts shice I was a kid and I have never seen the waistband elastic fall apart before now. All but the white waistbanded colors have failed within the first couple of washings. I have had shorts survive more than 100 wash/dry cycles before they would start to show waistband puckering or elastic failure. This last set ordered started to fail after the first wash and dry cycle. This will be the last Jockey product this family ever buys. Not sure who makes a better product but someone has to and they will get my business.

First purchase from
First time ordering from I have been a Jockey guy all my life ... but ordered a 6 pack of the Clasic Brief... it was my birthday and I was offered a discount as well as free shipping so I thought what the heck ... waited for delivery ... tracked online and when at work on the day of delivery i tracked the package and it said " left at door' so when I got home .. no package !! I called UPS to open a claim .. they suggest I call Jockey to advise .. when I talked to the Jockey rep and explained the situation ... she empathized and said we will send you a replacement package ASAP .. and she did and it arrived perfectly .... so great customer service from the Jockey rep ...

better than most
im 28 and have been wearing jockey products on and off since about age 13 and the conclusion iv come to is its the only underwear worth buying iv bought other brands but underwear is not made the way it used to be in this day in age companys dont enforce quality control or eve make their stuff in america so in my opinion depending on a persons tastes ect jockey underwear is well worth the extra money

Does not fit as expected
I have bought many Jockey classic briefs over the years as a repeat, satisfied user. But this batch (same size and model I purchased about 3 years ago) is too big and loose (and I am the same size!) does not give the snug support I have always liked.
Is it possible that what i received was mis- labeled??
February 21, 2011
As good today as years ago!
I have been wearing the Classic Brief for all my life; since I am now 75, that is a long time! They have the same superior quality today that they had years ago, and in this day and age, that is near unique!

how do the 9017 differ from the 9950?
Stephen Nesta on Sep 4, 2014
Jockey® Classic Brief - 6 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 6 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 3 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 3 Pack
BEST ANSWER: Hi Stepehen, the style number 9017 and 9950 are the same garment. We are currently clearancing the 9017 (the 6 pack) because we are focusing more on the 3 packs then the 6 packs. I would suggest picking up the 9017 with the reduced price. With prices like that they are going to fly off the shelfs!
what is difference in 9017 and 9995?
A shopper on Jun 21, 2015
Jockey® Classic Brief - 6 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 6 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 5 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 5 Pack
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The primary difference is that our style 9995 features a 5 pack quantity, and our style 9017 features a 6 pair quantity. The price for the 9995 is reduced because it features the old packaging that we're clearancing. Hope this helps!
I'm looking at the style 9017 men's briefs. I do not like the low rise or the full rise styles. I want what used to be the standard rise brief. Is this the style 9017?
Charles W on Dec 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the standard rise and full rise are the same rise and the low rise is signifigantly lower in the rise. We do not currently offer a mid rise garment.

Teresa D on Sep 5, 2014
I bought a 3 pack and they shrunk a lot?
Does this usually happen?
A shopper on Sep 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi, we do not use pre-shrunk or condensed cotton, typically a garment will shrink 10-14% after the first 3 washings. Even thogh the product does shrink we do account for this in production and they should fit perfectly after they are washed. Please call one of our personal shoppers at 1-800-562-5391 to return or exchange the garment.

Russ R on Oct 29, 2014

do the leg openings have elastic? the ones I now own stretch to a very loose and uncomfortable size.

What are the recommended washing instructions for colored briefs?
A shopper on Jun 26, 2015

You can use this not only for all of your Jockey products, but for any other apparel you may happen to have: For our cotton styles you will want to machine wash warm, use nonchlorine bleach only, tumble dry medium and wash with like colors. Thank you for your question!

How long before union blue is back in stock?
Larry F on May 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We introduced our Jockey Men's Classic Full Rise Six-Pack Brief in Union Blue as a special fashion assortment, part of our "one-time-only" seasonal palette. And although our forecasters thought we made enough products to last for the entire reason, we received a huge--indeed unprecedented--response from our consumers, particularly among those who received our catalog.

My supervisor checked with our manufacturing division, and unfortunately we do not have any other
Union Blue stock available, and because it is part of a fashion collection, there is no additional stock planned for production this year.

On the other hand, it's been so enormously popular that perhaps it may become available again (though our fashion assortments are planned more than a year in advance, so its return would not be for more than year).
Best size for 38-40 waist?
A shopper on May 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in our Jockey Classic Briefs. This particular style is available in numeric sizes. So we do offer a size 32, 34, 36, 38, 40 etc. So you would want to choose which size is the most comfortable to you. If you like your underwear a little looser, I'd suggest going with the size 40. Otherwise, you would want to choose the 38. Hope this helps.
Where are these made?
John R on Mar 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you very much for you question about our Jockey Classic Briefs. We have manufacturing facilities located in many countries throughout the world, and our Classic Briefs are not manufactured in one single facility. Unfortunately, if you ordered a package of briefs, we would not be able to tell you which country they were manufactured in because our warehouse, we have the products segregated in one place as a unique style number, but in that mix, some will have been made in one country, some in another.
size small? why does Jockey not make size small (28-30) pouch briefs or classic/low rise classic briefs?
John B on Mar 10, 2015
Jockey® Classic Brief - 6 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 6 Pack
Jockey® Pouch Brief - 3 Pack
Jockey® Pouch Brief - 3 Pack
Jockey® Classic Low-rise Brief - 6 Pack
Jockey® Classic Low-rise Brief - 6 Pack
BEST ANSWER: Thank you so much for your question. Unfortunately, there is not as much of a demand for a size Small as there is for the other sizes, so we have limited the number of styles we offer in a size Small. I have made a suggestion to our design team that we start manufacturing this size again because there is a demand for it. They often do rely on the feedback and suggestions we receive from customers to determine which styles and sizes we should produce.
I always had men's size '"medium" jockey underwear. What number size corresponds to medium?
A shopper on Feb 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! Our men's size medium is designed for a waist measurement of 32 to 34 inches. As a result, you would want to select one of those two size offerings, based on your own personal comfort. You can find our full men's size chart at the following link:

If you had any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
Do you still make a size 30 brief? That is my size, and I was always able to find it.
Allan K on Feb 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am very sorry but we no longer make a size 30 in the classic brief. I will pass your suggestion on to our merchandising team and hopefully we will have the size 30 again in the future.
How long before order is shipped?
A shopper on Jan 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: All orders placed before noon central time are shipped the same day. All orders placed after noon central time are shipped the next day. The amount of time it will take for the order to get to you will depend on the shipping option you choose. Standard ground shipping will take 5-7 buisness days.
What size size should I order? I wear size 38 regular fit jeans that are snug. I don't want my underwear super tight. I'm thinking of ordering sz. 40 Classic Fit, but considering a 10-14% shrinkage should I order 42s?
hpite on Jan 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I suggest going with the size you traditonally wear. The items are cut in anticiaption of them shrinking. Out of the package they will seem a little big.
