My Favorite Underwear By Far
My mom bought me my first pack of Jockey y-front briefs in the '70's when I was in high school. I fell in love with their unique style and look and comfortable feel right away, and just as an earlier reviewer noted, I instantly took pride in wearing them. (I am an independent-minded guy, and enjoyed being the only student in my gym class seen in y-fronts when we changed in the locker room. Other moms did their sons a disservice by apparently not looking for quality first when they did the annual back-to-school underwear shopping.)
I started buying Jockey for myself when I went off to college, and while living in an all-male dorm again took pride in the individuality and uniqueness that the Jockey brand and style represents for me to this very day.
The new black stitching of the Jockey logo in the waistband stands out vividly, as does the diamond-white feature. In terms of design, the distinct y-front pouch and side seams make for a stylish presentation and a comfortable, secure, and supportive fit.
I continue to wear Jockey y-fronts as my exclusive brand and style of underwear. They are all-purpose briefs for me; as everyday wear, at the gym, and as sleepwear.
I have periodically bought some of the briefs in colors, but always switch back to the distinctive white ones. I have a slender and athletic build, and wearing white y-fronts with a white ribbed Jockey sleeveless A-shirt makes for a great look.
One caution: I measure at a 34" waist, but the size 32 fits me perfectly; you may need to purchase one size down from what you might wear in another brand of briefs.
I recently introduced Jockey briefs to a teen-aged nephew as a birthday present, and he became an instant convert. More young guys should ditch the sloppy boxers as he did and try out Jockey y-front briefs; they would immediately find out what they are missing: Style, comfort, functionality, and individuality.
If you have never worn them before, buy a pack and enjoy a superior garment that also makes a statement.

In case you guys didn't know...
I think what several people on here don't understand about Y-front briefs is that it is designed for Johnson to rest upward, instead of just hanging down like with boxers. The Y-front supports it either resting up-left or up-right. Of course, that's why the Y-front is shaped that way, and that's why so many men prefer the extra support rather than boxers. My teenage son wears these also, and neither of us have had any issues.

Jockey Classic Briefs
I had one delivery that never came because it was mis-delivered to someone else, but Jockey was prompt to replace the order and I commend them for that. Our delivery service around here, especially USPS, is absolutely horrible.

Don't like the classic brief at aall
Jockey classic briefs are large and uncomfortable. Like many Jockey briefs they come apart at the band and cannot get them in the colors wanted.

how do the 9017 differ from the 9950?
Stephen Nesta on Sep 4, 2014
Jockey® Classic Brief - 3 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 3 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 6 Pack
Jockey® Classic Brief - 6 Pack
BEST ANSWER: Hi Stepehen, the style number 9017 and 9950 are the same garment. We are currently clearancing the 9017 (the 6 pack) because we are focusing more on the 3 packs then the 6 packs. I would suggest picking up the 9017 with the reduced price. With prices like that they are going to fly off the shelfs!
What did you do with the size 30 classic brief? For crying out loud, I've been wearing them since I was 16 and now I'm 62. Not everyone porks out as they get older.
Rod F on Jan 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am very sorry that we no longer make the classic brief in the size 30. I will pass on your suggestion that we bring them back in the size 30.
did you change your mens briefs?
A shopper on Aug 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have always warn men's briefs; Jockey is one of my favorite brands. I do buy other brands: 2xist, All American Jock, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, dt Jocks, Aussie Bum, Baskit, etc. But, Jockey brand is one of my favorites and the jockey low rise y front brief is a brief for everyday use.
I have worn Jockey underwear for several years and never had any problem. But recently, the elastic in the waistbands has been deteriorating after only a few wears/washes. I have been a loyal customer, but I might have to switch to another brand if this continues. Any suggestions/answers?
David W on Nov 5, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The briefs made in Cambodia are far inferior to the ones made in Costa Rica. I will not buy them again.
Is this style 9007?
A shopper on Dec 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, we did an update to the packaging and we had to change the style number but the product is the same.
what is the difference between style 9950 and 9017 briefs ?
A shopper on Oct 6, 2014

What does it mean "TO FLAG A REVIEW"???
Allan A on Oct 15, 2014

which brief, full or low cut is a better fit for my 40 inch waist with out to much fabric below backside ?
paul w on Jan 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am very sorry but we do not make the low rise in a size 40. So the best for you in the classic collection would be the classic brief.

What color are the elastic bands on the 9950 "grey" 3-pack?
A shopper on Jan 10, 2015
full raise or low cut which is better?
paul w on Jan 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Dear Sir, I tend to prefer full-raise because I need additional support for my abdominal muscles, which I use to
support my breathing when singing (classical music). However, in Summer I weras often the low-raise version.
I have tried over deacdes quite a number of underwear brands, and I settled for Jockey, to me the best one.
what is the most popular color?
A shopper on Feb 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! Our most popular color in this particular style would be our Diamond White offering. Hope this helps!
Do you know which of the Classic Brief's in colors in 3-paks have the white elastic waistband? The white waistbands hold up way better than the black ones (which shrink and wrinkle - very annoying). Thanks. B on Apr 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! At this time our Classic Briefs offered in color packs do feature a black elastic waistband. If for any reason this waistband becomes uncomfortable, I would like to invite you to give one of our Personal Shoppers a call at 1-800-JOCKEY-1 (800-562-5391). We would be more than happy to assist you with that matter. In the meantime though, I will be forwarding your preference of a white band on these styles to our design team as I know they depend heavily on the input of customers. Hope this helps!
what is the difference between Full Rise Brief and Classic Brief?
Shiv M on Feb 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! There is absolutely no difference between our Classic Brief and our previously offered Full Rise Classic Brief. Both styles feature that full waist rise you've come to love from Jockey, which sits just at the natural waist. If you had any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

What is the difference between 9965 and 9950 ?
A shopper on Feb 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! Both our Jockey styles 9965 and 9950 are the same garment, our Jockey Classic Full-Rise Brief. The only difference between those two packages are the total garments contained in each. Style 9965 is a four pack and style 9950 is a 3 pack.

Why do you no longer offer the Classic Midway Brief with y-front in standard sizes. It is an very good product and I think it would instantly be popular if we could again buy it in sizes like 34 to 38 Please bring it back?
Robert R on Sep 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi, Thank you for your inquiry. I wish we could have found more people like you, who enjoyed our Jockey Men's Modern Classics Midway. It was, alas, discontinued due to poor sales performance. We will pass your feedback on to our merchandising and sales staff as products are often brought back when consumer demand is great enough. Thank you and have a good day.

How many inches from top of waist band to to the bottom of the classic brief? I think I need a mid-rise - definitely not full rise.

Are these mens briefs still imported from Cambodia? Like other customers, the elastic in these briefs do not last.
A shopper on Sep 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi, Thank you for your inquiry. Because our products are made in multiple countries, we have no way of guaranteeing (or in many cases identifying) a country of origin for any product you may purchase. Of course, we do guarantee 100% consumer satisfaction on every product we sell, and we stand behind that policy with free returns. Thank you and have a good say.
where are these made?

I recently purchased some jockey briefs. I find that the inner flap rides up which doesn't allow for the required support. Have you had other similar comments?
Joe S on Aug 7, 2016

I was very sorry to hear that the fly design was not supportive enough and even rode up. Please call one of our personal shoppers at 1-800-562-5391 and we will be happy to assist with replacements of the same item or maybe even something that will work better.

I find the wast band is too tight.!!! shall I go for a 34/36?
