Jockey's Thong: Unique and Exciting
I have worn white Jockey y-front briefs exclusively since attending high school in the '70's, as I noted in a recent review I submitted of that product. I am a completely dedicated y-front brief-wearing guy; I love them and take pride in wearing them!!!.
While perusing a recent Jockey email advertising an online sale, I noticed that Jockey offers a seamless thong to its customers. I read the customer reviews, and decided (after the urging of my partner) to buy several of the thongs (which are undergarments more commonly worn in Europe than in the US) and try them out.
Here are my observations thongs in general and about Jockey's thong product in particular:
Thong underwear, while standard issue for many females, only appeals to a specialty clientele among males. A thong is not going to satisify, or look good on, every guy who might want to try them out. First, thong wearers should be of a slender build. (Bigger readers should take no offense; guys have the latitude to select a style of underwear that suits their physical profile. I am thin, and I look foolish in boxers.) Second, if you are self-conscious about your underwear attracting attention, thongs are probably not for you; their rarity in the US combined with their unique appearance and features may well attract some notice and even stares when you strip down to them in the gym locker room. I am very much an individual and am OK with that; some guys are not. Let personal preference and your comfort zone be your guide. And obviously, thong underwear can only be worn after a shower.
As far as the Jockey thong product, the fit was perfect (I wear size medium.) The frontal portion offers total comfort and support with a silky-smooth and soft fabric that feels exquisite next to the skin. Everything is held neatly in place and the appearance in the front is streamlined. Prominent Jockey lettering on the plush waistband makes a statement that the wearer is proud to put on and be seen in the brand; I certainly am!
As every male who has either worn a thong or seen them on other guys knows, the back strap feature of thong underwear makes it a unique visual and wearing experience. Understand this: Once you pull on your thong, the upper V-shaped portion of the rear coverage will remain visible, but the lower strap is going to find its way to where it needs to be (and where the thong's design dictates; the strap has no choice but to disappear) and the wearer must forget about it and not tug on it to make adjustments as the strap settles into the spot where it is designed to go. (It is no surprise that dedicated thong wearers will tell you they really like that particular feature of the garment.) If you ignore an early period of unfamiliarity, you will soon forget that the thong is on you and that the lower strap is nestled discreetly in place and you can go about your daily business in complete comfort. Thongs require patience, but if you allow for that, you will have an underwear experience well worth the adjustment period; the minimal amount of fabric used in a thong will make it feel like the garment is not even there.
So, thongs are not appropriate for the wide range of customers who wear briefs, boxer briefs, or boxers; as noted before, thongs appeal to a specialty clientele. But if you have the right physical and personal profile, enjoy wearing underwear (even an unconventional style like thongs) that makes a statement (as I do), and look for exceptional comfort coupled with minimal coverage, give the Jockey thongs a try. (I would recommend if you are a first-time thong wearer that you audition them as sleepwear; they are especially fun to wear to bed, and will only be seen there by persons with whom you would be comfortable or by no one at all.) And thongs have undeniable visual appeal for adventuresome undie-wearers.
I cannot compare the Jockey thong with those produced by competitors; the Jockey thong is the only one I have ever tried. But the product has all the standard hallmarks of the brand: Outstanding comfort and support, attention to detail, stylishness, quality fabric, and a sense of adventure. If you have never worn a thong are ready for a new underwear experience, the Jockey thong is an excellent choice, and if you are a veteran thong wearer, you probably already know that...
I hope this review is helpful!
