Fit is not quite right in the waist
I purchased three of these and was very pleased with the fabric and feel of the garment until I tried it on. It fit great every where except waist. It was perfect in front but "rode" very low in the back. It was almost as if I had it on backwards. I looked and the tag was in the back. The bonus is that the fabric and feel was great. I have sent them back ONLY because of the fit at the waist. I don't like pants/shorts that fit "below the waist" so this would not have worked for me. It was not advertised as "below the waist" but it definitely was in the back. However, that being said, I still love Jockey and Jockey underwear and will order the styles I know fit--just not this particular item.

I have not been able to find comfortable panties for years. I don't know if it's my shape or the patterns of the ready-to-wear but NOTHING is ever comfortable - I'm constantly pulling down on the lower edge to keep the back edges under by butt cheeks. I abhor panty lines and these Skimmies take care of that little problem too! I'm extremely sensitive to pressure so can't wear anything tight so I purchase these one size too big. I am SO happy to find a model that doesn't incorporate the 'girdle effect' like all the others, just COMFORT and COVERAGE - the C & C model - they still stay up but I have no pressure anywhere. My only question is what are they going to feel like during the hot summer months in the desert where I live? I'm dreaming of a Skimmie model that is designed just like this one but made with an open, airy summer fabric. I LOVE THESE SKIMMIES PLEASE NEVER STOP MAKING THEM and NEVER ADD 'CONTROL' TO THIS MODEL!!!! Yes, I know there are models with shorter legs that would be cooler but I've had such bad luck over the years I'm afraid to try them, thinking they will work their way up in the back - I think my particular shape NEEDS the longer leg to be the most comfortable.

my favorite skimmies
I love Skimmies. They offer modesty, solve the panty line issue, and prevent my legs from rubbing.

I have tried all of the Skimmies and this is my favorite. The originals are fine, but there is a static problem and although I like the fabric of the anti static style, they are impossible to keep up.

This style runs the smallest of all three. In fact, there isn't much consistency in the sizing at all.

A cotton crotch would be nice
It'd be nice if they had a cotton, or similar soft crotch so you could attach a pants-liner.

Great product - needs a little tweak
Great product to wear under a skirt - prevents legs rubbing together and is much cooler than the earlier skimmies (I had no complaints about them -just decided to try these). But the wide waistband tends to roll and this shows under smooth fitting dresses. Works well under skirts with a waistband. Also the back is lower than the front and I do not have a large butt. I have tried not pulling them up as high and pulling them up higher - neither helps. Wearing them backwards does help a little. The legs don't ride up like the ones on the shorter version of the skimmies sometimes do.

Best unmentionables ever
Oh my gosh, I LOVE these things! So cool and comfortable (and I'm at the "personal summer moment" time of my life). No more legs rubbing together in the heat. Bleh!

I'm a pear shape, 5'6", 170 lbs, size 8 panties and the XXL fit perfect. I have no problems with rolling waistbands, everything stays put.

No VPL & No Thigh-Dent
I'm in my 40s, 5'7" and a size 6-8 pear. I bought these in size M and they fit perfectly. I had been wearing a hot, confining capri shaper just to avoid VPL; mid-thigh shapers would fix my VPL but also gave me a mid-thigh dent. I was an early adopter of original Skimmies and still wear them under loose skirts, but on me they're visible under slacks. This Skimmies version takes "pretty good" to "great." I don't know about moisture-wicking, as I've only worn them in my 65-degree office, but I can say they eliminate VPL (I wear them over a thin nylon panty for a bit more booty control) and the legbands are undetectable on my thighs (a FIRST). My 2nd favorite feature after the invisible legbands is the waistband, which I think is knit the same way and sits about an inch below the navel. I don't need anything cinching my already small waist, and it's nice to have nothing touching me there or protruding above the waistband of my slacks. Finally, this fabric is thin enough to not add bulk underneath anything, even jeans, and it glides nicely under my clothes. Although the waistband stays put on me, the legbands do tend to ride up some, but they still don't ever show, and they still feel much better than spandex all the way down over my knees! I've washed & dried them once (cold water/delicate/low heat), and they came out looking new.

Perfect to prevent chafing under skirts,
I love these. I wear them almost every day. They run small. I ordered an XXL. I wear a size 7 pantie.

What I love and what I don't
I am a tall, athletic woman with a more straight shape (and an average buttock). The wicking Skimmies would be better if the waistband was improved. You would think that with my straight shape that the waistband wouldn't be a problem, but it feels "loose" compared to the same size in the regular Skimmies. Also, the buttock area of the Skimmie doesn't have enough coverage as compared to the front. That is, when you pull them into position, the rear waistband is several inches lower than the front waistband. When you lower the front waistband to match the rear, the waistband becomes looser. Then the Skimmies turn into a sort of "hipster" length Skimmie. That waistband position actually is probably better for a lot of pants versus the regular Skimmies (which are pretty high-waisted). I can only imagine though what someone with a more curvy shape would experience. I mean, the waist would probably feel really loose.
I'm keeping the two pair I have, but hope the next version is improved in fit.

I can't stand having pressure anywhere on my body so I purchased these a size too large = coverage without constriction. I especially like the cotton gusset and nice wide waist band. I am so glad this wicking, non constricting model is available as I definitely did not want the usual 'girdle, tummy flattening' type. I find most underwear very uncomfortable because they tend to ride up - so far I haven't had any issues with the bottom of the legs creeping up. Now to see how comfortable they are to wear during the hot summer months.

I wanted to wear these when I was working out to see if they pulled sweat away from my body (any more than the original style does). I love these panties because they don't give a girl chafing issues or ride up under clothing. Super comfortable style.

I wanted to try these to smooth out my thighs. They fit but I don't wear them because they are too short. I'm not sure most women would want them 1.5 inches longer, but I do for more modesty. Perhaps you could make them for tall women? Also, I would like them in white.

I have one pair and like how non-compressing they feel yet very slimming; so I ordered 3 more pair in other colors. If you coordinate the color with clothing, it looks fine if it shows when you cross your legs or reach for something.

Jockey Skimmies Wicking Slipshorts: What is the inseam length?
Pauline S on Sep 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi Pauline, the inseam measurment on our Wicking Skimmies is 7 inches.
do they come in a size bigger than a 2xL?
A shopper on Jun 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: As a "larger than 2x"... I'd like to see this expanded to 3x at least. The "Friction Affliction" keeps ladies as myself from enjoying the summer styles (maxi dresses/skirts, etc). This would be a dream come true...
Is this meant to be worn with regular underwear underneath, or by itself?
A shopper on Oct 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Ultimately, it may be a matter of personal preference and use.
Personally, I like wearing a thong or seamless panty beneath the short if I am wearing a pair of these; however, I think it can be worn alone as it provides the flexibility of a panty while allowing the coverage of a slip.
I saw these in a store today, and I would really love to try them. I can't stand to wear pantyhose, and for several years I wore regular tee shirt type knit shorts under dresses and skirts to keep my thighs from rubbing, along with trouser socks (my skirts were all long enough for that to work). My dilemma is what size to get. I have worn size 8 French cut Jockey panties forever, and even they get looser with age. Most of my regular clothes are 1X-2X, though according to your size chart my waist would fit a size 3X and my hips would be even bigger. In addition, many of the reviews by customers said they run small, and to get a larger size than usually worn. Since 2X is the largest sold, I really don't have that option. It makes no sense at all not to sell these in larger sizes. Do designers think big woman don't care about how we look or feel in our clothes, or don't need to worry about sweat and chafing? Seems to me that we need them as much if not more than small women. Anyway, I would ordinarily buy a 2X, but after reading the reviews I have no idea if that would fit right. I don't mind a snug fit as long as it will stay in place without rolling down at the waist or up on the legs, but I don't want to feel like I'm wearing my mother's girdle. Any advice?
A shopper on Jul 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you so much for your question about our Jockey Skimmies.

Although our Skimmies Wicking Slipshort is not available in a size 3XL right now, our merchandising and design team is currently considering whether perhaps our collections are too restrictive in terms of size. So, they've asked us to forward on to them any feedback which would tend to confirm that hypothesis. So I will be forwarding your online product review on to them for review.

If you would like to give the size 2XL a try, we do offer completely free returns on all orders. We have a prepaid postage label located on the website you can print out.

Hope this helps!
One review states that a size 6 panty should order XL ? Please explain about accuracy. Thanks!
A shopper on Feb 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question, in my experience the skimmies tend to run on the big side. I suggest going by your waist and hip measurment according to our size chart. You can view our size chart at the following link:
I have heavy thighs. Do these roll up?
Linda on Oct 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi Linda, when this item is purchased too small it can ride up. I suggest going with the size that you measure based on your waist and hip measurment and if you do have a problem with them ridiing up; please return them to us for full refund and place a new order for a larger size. We offer free returns and exchanges on every order.
How does this short perform in a hot climate? I am interested in its moisture wicking properties, thanks.
A shopper on May 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! Our Jockey Skimmies Wicking Slipshort was actually designed with work outs in mind. The wicking technology featured in this style is designed to help keep you dry during the most strenuous of workouts and activities. I would imagine this style would work great in a warmer climate to help keep you cool and dry. Hope this helps!
how about lacy? or white??
A shopper on Apr 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in our Jockey Skimmies Wicking Slipshort. Although we don't offer our Skimmies Wicking Slipshort in the color White or with Lace trim right now, I am making a note of it in our database for our merchandisers. They've been looking for consumer insights to help them in their color selection, and so we really appreciate you taking the time to contact us. You never know -- your feedback may just change our underwear (at least in terms of color offerings).
Does this come up to the waist? Or is it low cut like the picture? All the slipshort pictures on the website seem to show a low cut top. I like mine to go to the waist.
birdloveus on Mar 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Our Skimmies Wicking Slipshort is designed to sit near the natural waist. This style is not classified as one of our low-rise offerings. Hope this helps!
Is it high waist?
Yun B on Mar 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, not in the way i would define it. When undergarments say "high-waisted" what I often see is the waistband coming part way up one's rib cage. i guess that is slimming, but uncomfortable, and prone to rolling down.

The top of this short hits right at your navel, or slightly below it. So you sure could not call it "low rise." It is really comfortable, feels like it is holding you in, i.e. controlling any little jiggly areas, but also feels like you have next to nothing on.
Do they snag?
A shopper on Sep 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have not noticed them snagging like tights or hose. They are thicker than that, but not like a heavy girdle. More like a pair of underwear.
Are these meant to 'slim' or just provide an alternative to a slip & maybe keep the thighs from getting that brush burn?
A shopper on Jun 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I use them primarily as an alternative to a traditional slip. The main benefit is the fact that it wears like a short and prevents my thighs from rubbing together. While this is not really a "slimming" product it does "smooth" out imperfections in the upper thighs and lower stomach. Personally I cannot tolerate shape wear because it is too tight and uncomfortable. This product gives me the comfort I'm looking for when wearing dresses and skirts and makes the clothes lay better than if I wasn't wearing them.
can these be worn alone with a tunic?
Susan B on Sep 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No this is clearly underwear. Please wear leggings with your tunic!
I have to wear thigh high compression stockings. I wonder how well the tops of the stockings meet the legs of the skimmies?
Kathy on Aug 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: That is a great question. Our Jockey Skimmies Wicking Slipshort is designed to extend to the middle of the thigh. They have an inseam measurement of 7 inches. Hope this helps.
Are the skimmies sold in stores?
A shopper on Jun 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: That is a really good question. Jockey products are sold at the following department stores:

Boston Store
Carson Pirie Scott
JC Pennys
Lord & Taylor

The retailers do not always stock all the products we ship to them in all of their stores: some stores carry some Jockey products, other stores carry other Jockey products. I'm sorry we don't have records to determine what products are in each store.

Hope this helps!
What is the length on the two different skimmies?
A shopper on Jul 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: That is a great question. The difference in length will be two inches. The standard size has an inseam measurement of 7" while our short length has an inseam measurement of 5". Hope this helps.
why is the color you call "LIGHT " not available in briefs ?
A shopper on Jun 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Although we don't offer our Jockey Women's Underwear in light right now, I am making a note of it in our database for our merchandisers. They've been looking for consumer insights to help them in their color selection, and so we really appreciate you taking the time to contact us.
