The best hip brief for men
These are the best panties for men who enjoy wearing panties. My wife and I purchase matching tactel panties, hers size 5 bikini, mine size 7 hip brief. They are so silky and comfortable. Somehow you should be marketing these to straight men. You are missing a huge market share. True, some men would never consider them, but many others would. Many men have secretly tried on their wife's panties. Or wear them with their wife's encouragement. I wear tactel hip briefs 24/7. My wife loves them on me.

A perfect brief for men
If you are looking for something different in men's underwear, this is it. The ample stretch accomodates the male anatomy well. The stretchability provides excellent support making it perfect for athletics. The close fit makes it ideal under those snug fitting pants. The lack of embellishment (i.e. lace, appliques, etc.) make it appear to be traditional men's nylon underwear. You won't get stares from other guys in the locker room. The color selection enables you to pick a shade for any occasion. And my wife loves the way I look wearing them.

Great everyday underwear
These fit well and are very comfortable. If you are a male looking for an alternative to the Men's Nylon briefs I would highly recommend these.

Another Winner!
My wife and I are both crazy about the NPLP bikinis -- we both wear size 8! I just tried the hip brief this week, and I like it as well as the bikini! It fits and supports well, just like the bikini, but the higher rise make it more appropriate under my dress pants, where a bikini line might show through. I'd like to see more "guy" colors, but there are still some good ones.

Hopefully, the wife'll leave them alone long enough so I get a chance to wear them a few times before she absconds with them. They won't be the first of my briefs I've had to dig out of her drawers!

Why don't you at Jockey market these to men? They're great!

Just Perfect
These are outstanding panties. As a man, I find them to be exceptionally soft and much more comfortable than anything I can buy in male underwear.

Very comfortable
As a man I have to say they are the most comfortable panties that I have ever worn. I think that you should martket them for men.

My husband and I have heard at the Jockey store that the hip brief and bikini tactel panties will be discontinued. Hope it's not true. Can someone from Jockey answer this. We both wear the tactel panties, different sizes of course. He and I love the softness and comfort.

I'm now a continuing buyer
My girlfriend noticed I had a problem with my swim trunks, and got me to put her size 8 hip brief between the so-called support and the visible trunks. It worked so well that I have adopted them for non-swim daily wear as well.
They practically dry themselves, and always feel & look great. Colors have stayed bright after many clorine (pool) exposures. I never bothered to try any other brand. I still feel silly shopping in the lingerie dept. but I will continue to do so till there is a better alternative!

Why did they stop making this in the "modal" fabric? It was my favorite! The "hipster" styles are too low in the front, and the full "briefs" are too high. I don't like nylon fabric. Guess I'll have to switch brands to find something comparable.
A shopper on Dec 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I agree style #1200 with the "modal fabric" in this line was the best!!! it's hard to believe the sales never warranted keeping them around, every time I would try and order them they were out of stock on most styles. So many gals I know are upset too. Please bring back the Modal fabric, keep your costumers happy!!!
What material are they made of?
A shopper on Sep 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The material is called Tactel. It is like a nylon with medium high shine surface but I think a lot more stretch than nylon. The material is very light, holds its colors thru as many washings as they ever receive. The hemming at the legs and waists is very well connected to the breif itself. I have been wearing them for years now, over 10 I think and I have never had a hem come apart and in that I am a man I put more stress on them than most women will. btw, these are very popular with men because of the comfort and durability and with women because they just do not show a panty line. I hope you are not offended I am a man. I have worn jockey products for over 60 years. In the early 70's they made men's briefs in material very much like this but after about 5 years terminated the line entirely. My wife found the material in the women's line and since the men's were a bikini style it was a perfect fit and I changed over, mainly because i liked the fabric so much. I can only offer my highest recommendation of their tactel material. btw, size is not critical. If in doubt you can undersize slightly. They stretch a lot and it does not seem to affect the durability. Its just nice stuff. Good Luck, bb in Michigan
I can't see the prints in those tiny swatches. Where can I see what the prints look like?
A shopper on May 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm sorry about the difficulties. My manager said he will include your feedback in a report to our Web design team. They are planning to revamp the site to make it easier to navigate, so we really do appreciate your feedback. In the meantime though, the best way to view those swatches is in our product listing page. You can find the product listing for our No Panty Line Promise Tactel Hip Brief at: Hovering over the color swatch section will cause that particular color to appear larger near your mouse. Hope this helps!
I like the Jockey brief with the 5" sides and goes slightly below the belly button. can you tell what style it is?
A shopper on May 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I sure wish we could have found more people like you. Due to poor sales performance our Jockey Women's No Panty Line Promise Tactel Modern Brief was retired, and we have no more. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Our customers have been migrating to our Jockey No Panty Line Promise Hip Brief (Style 1372) (viewable at Just enter the style number in the "find" field in the upper right corner and click "find"). This style features a side seam of just under 5 inches. Hope this helps.
Question for website design: Why aren't there rear view pictures? I want to see the coverage.
A shopper on Aug 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I've noticed a lack of description on Jockey's website for years. I agree the backs of their garments should always be shown. Even photos of the front of some of their garments are covered with models' arms and hair. Yes, we know your models have all their limbs and have hair on their heads. Why block what you're trying to sell by covering it? Oh well, if I worked for Jockey I might get somewhere with this but whatever.

As an owner of MANY pair of this particular panty I will let you know the back offers full coverage and does NOT ride up. Extremely comfortable panty.

The price says $4.99 but when selected price changes to $11?
A shopper on Sep 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I am very sorry for the confusion, the $4.99 price was for color that were from last season that we have sold out of. The regular price for this it is $11.00 each or 3 for $28. All sale priced items are while supplies last and it seems we have sold out of the sale price.

So many gals I know are upset too. Please bring back the Modal fabric, keep your costumers happy!!! why did you take away the best underwear ever?
Nadia S on Oct 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I wish we could have found more people like you, who enjoyed our No Panty Line Promise Modal Bikini. It was, alas, discontinued due to poor sales performance. I wish I could refer you to something else, but unfortunately, we have nothing else quite like it. It was unique (which no doubt also explains your determination to find it amid our array of other products). Meanwhile, we will pass your feedback on to our merchandising and sales staff as products are often brought back when consumer demand is great enough. Thank you for your feedback!
When will these be marketed for men?
A shopper on Sep 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you very much for your question. Our Jockey No Panty Line Promise Tactel Hip Brief is a style that is designed for women. At this time, we do not have any plans to market them towards men. But, I would be more than happy to put in a suggestion that we look at producing a similar style for men. Hope this helps.
Can you put these in mens department also?
A shopper on Sep 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They certainly should. They are very popular with men I know. R J , Michigan
I want to print a picture of want I have ordered. How do I do this?
A shopper on Jan 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am very sorry but since I am not familiar with your computer system, I'm not sure how you would print off of your computer. Please call one of our personal shoppers at 1-800-562-5391 and we might be able to walk through the process of printing from
Will all colors become available for all sizes in the Hip Brief? Size 10 only has 2 choices; white or a pattern. Been checking for months for other colors to restock, and none have.
Bobbi S on Dec 19, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I am very sorry that we are out of stock in the colors you are looking for. We should be getting more colors after the 1st of the year. The only colors that will always be restocked are light, black and white. All other colors are fashion colors and are one time drops.
I would like to have my wife order theirs panitys for me . How can I get her to agree ?

Is this #5 about 36" - 38" at the hip? That's what the representative told me but I'd like a customer's opinion.
A shopper on Apr 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I get a size 6 in the tactel hip brief. I'm a 36'' hip. I'm also short torso and high waist. This style comes just under my navel...perfect for me. If you are closer to the 36, you can get away with a 5. If you are closer to the 38, you might even be looking at a size 7. I think it would be a stretch(no pun intended) for a size 5 to fit a 38 hip. I would get at least a 6.
Does this style panty have double lined material on the front side?
A shopper on Feb 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, it is not double-lined in front or back. But the material is not real sheer, so you don't really see-thru the material. These underwear are the most comfortable I have ever worn and I'm almost 60 years old and have tried a lot of different brands and ty
can we have more pretty colors in this style please?Jockey® No Panty Line Promise® Tactel® Hip Brief... not everyone looks good in dark colors...fair skinned customers of course
Debra J D on Oct 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Although we don't offer our Jockey Women's No Panty Line Promise® Tactel Hip Brief in more bright colors right now, I am making a note of it in our database for our merchandisers. They've been looking for consumer insights to help them in their color selection, and so we really appreciate you taking the time to contact us. You never know -- your feedback may just change our underwear (at least in terms of color offerings). Thanks for your feedback!
Are these the same as the Rachel Zoe preferred panties from probably a couple years ago?
A shopper on Feb 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! While our Jockey No Panty Line Promise Tactel Hip Brief are very similar to several of our previously offered styles featured in our Rachael Zoe collection, this specific style was not part of that collection. If you had any questions about our Jockey No Panty Line Promise Tactel Hip Brief, please do not hesitate to ask!
what color is the crotch piece on the "Blue Monday" panty (style 1372) ?
A shopper on Oct 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for that question! The panty liner color for this particular style does depend on the actual color of the panty chosen. All of our solid colors will feature a liner of the same color as the body of the garment. All print pairs feature a white colored liner. In both cases though, the liner does feature a 100% cotton fabric content. Hope this helps!
I'm looking for the women's No Panty Line Promise panty with the front double panel. Do you still make those?
Lisa C on Sep 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. At this time our No Panty Line Promise collection does feature a single layer design on the body of the garments, though each of these styles does feature a cotton panty liner sewn into its gusset. Hope this helps!
Is it just me or is the size chart totally off base? Using it, I should wear either a size 6 or a size 7 based on whether I use the waist or hip measurement - either of which just makes me laugh. I have been wearing size 8 for years; I am 5'8" and used to be a solid size 12, but have recently gained weight. :( I am debating about going up a size, and and faced with a size chart that is totally useless. What doesn't the size chart reflect what the panty actually is? Or do other people actually wear underwear this tight???
Nadine on Aug 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you so much for your question. I do apologize that you're having difficulties determining which size you purchase in our Jockey No Panty Line Promise Tactel Hip Brief. My suggestion would be to go with the size that the size chart recommends, and if they don't fit, you can return them for a full refund. Hope this helps.
BY looking at the sizing chart my measurements are between sizes. Do I buy the smaller or larger size?
Kristin L on Mar 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: That is an excellent question. When it comes to the fit of your underwear, it tends to be a personal option. From what we have been told by our design team, you should go with the larger size. The 10% spandex that is in the material used to manufacutre on No Panty Line Promice collection will help compensate for the larger size.
Is the crotch cotton lined? These look similar to the item I'm trying to replace, but I don't seem to find this answer. thanks.
pamela c on Feb 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you so much for your question. Yes, the Jockey No Panty Line Promise Tactel Hip Brief, style 1372 does have a cotton lined crotch.
On your panties, I know that you sell 3 packs that are not all the same color, could you show these pack's? As to just what colors are in each pack? I used to buy your Elance bikini, but now I'm older and have a tummy they don't want to stay up, so I have to change, but I have been wearing Jockey for so long I want to stay with the company. But I would like to know the color groups that I am buying!
Debbie on Nov 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi Debbie, I am very sorry fro the confusion, the no panty line promise hip brief is sold indvidually and not in a 3 pack. We do offer a 3 for $28.50 pricing but you pick and chose the colors you want.
