A classic that has NOT changed
After maybe 15 years, the fabric covering the waistbands of my old Formfits finally wore out. I was in a pickle ... until I found they've apparently been reincarnated as Jockey Elance String Bikinis.
I love the fit. They cover my derriere (which is ample), but still lay flat in front. They don't ride up in the back, and because they are cut low, they don't dig into my belly. The "string" is non-binding and placed/sized properly. I can move in any direction and not feel it, ever.
I love the fabric. Anything but 100% cotton is too hot (and not as healthy, according to every doctor I've ever asked).
I love the "waist" band. I find exposed waistbands irritating, and they fall apart in the wash. But if the bands are covered, they can be made of sturdier stuff. Though I won't be able to tell until these have worn out, I'm betting they're like my old Formfits: the elastic is basically a big flat rubber band.
I buy plus size 8s because regular 7s are snug, especially after they've been washed/dried. The 8s are perhaps a wee bit larger than comparable brands in a similar style. (It's hard to tell, because none of those fit me as well!)
The only suggestions for improvement I can make are: (1) offer them in more colors, specifically GROWN-UP colors (e.g., olive drab, mossy green, plum, wine, charcoal, cinnamon) (2) in addition to the multi-colored 3-packs, offer them all in one color (or at least 3 blacks and 3 whites) (3) jettison the oddball prints. I love the paisleys and the small, dainty prints, but not the juvenile ones (bows, yuck) or the matronly florals (roses, blah). More of the tiny patterns as well as stripes, checks, and geometric prints would be lovely.
