Truly Comfortable Cotton - It All Adds up to Better Yarns
Everybody loves cotton. It's soft and durable, offers excellent breathability and is highly absorbent. It's the perfect choice for all sorts of apparel, and especially underwear. But not all cotton is created equal. Where cotton is grown and how it's processed makes a big difference in the way cotton garments feel and wear.

Some of the best cotton in the world is grown in California. The state's climate endows cotton with a finer strand that enhances its natural properties. Not surprisingly, we use California cotton in Jockey products.

All cotton is either combed or carded to align the fibers. Jockey uses the combing method because it makes the fiber smoother and stronger. Jockey cotton is also ring-spun, which makes for a more pliable, and ultimately softer yarn. These processes are more expensive and involved than other cotton processing methods, but the extra effort results in a superior garment - one that meets Jockey's high standards for quality and comfort.

Here's an easy way to visualize the difference between combed and carded cotton fibers:
– Combed fibers resemble long, flowing hair that's smooth and silky.
– Carded fibers look like short, spiky-cut hair that's rough and textured.

Clearly, it's a difference you can see and feel.
