I've worn all different brands of boxer briefs for years, and this fabric is probably the nicest I've run across. It's soft, stretchy enough, durable, just thick enough and it wicks sweat amazingly well. As opposed to most polyester boxer briefs, this fabric seems to have "fluffier" fibers. It's really, REALLY nice.
My only issue is with the cut. I normally wear size Large (I'm muscular and athletic - 5'11", 250lbs, 38" waist), but in these I need size XL. They basically fit fine, though the waist is just a little large. I still like them a LOT; the cut is just not for all shapes.
I received these as a special promotion. The fabric is very nice. As advertised, it is soft and seems to wear well. My complaint with the garment is the cut. I have bigger thighs; Therefore, I need extra stretch in the legs. If I go up a size, the waist is to big. These do not seem to stretch well. The legs seem to constantly pull the shorts down. I do like that the back panel is one piece, but because the lack of stretch it doesn't seem to fit and feels like it is being pulled down.
First of all, the packaging was very nice and looked highly professional. I wore each pair a few times, with washing in-between each, before writing this review. They are soft and comfortable to wear due to the light and soft material. The fit was very nice and wasn’t too tight or too loose around the waist nor the legs. I can say that I never felt like they were causing me to be too warm. The material stayed cool and dry even when I was active. The support in them was better than any other type of midways I have worn recently. They tend to fit nicely around the butt as well. My spouse even complemented me on them and said they looked nice.
Having recently moved to Utah & residing minutes from epic trails, I had to put Jockey's Sport Outdoor Midways to the test.
Immediately out of the box, the ultra lightweight tech fabric was a surprise. At first glance, it looks like a cotton-poly blend, but it's actually a 95% polyester 5% spandex blend. I'm generally not a huge fan of polyester in hot summer months, but this fabric is different. It's so well ventilated and airy, when worn under shorts it feels like I have a fan blowing beneath me at times. Jockey strategically placed mesh panels all around the groin area and down the inner sides of your thighs, so the airflow you get wearing these is just awesome!
How'd they hold up on a 4-hour, sweaty hike? Pretty amazing! The ergonomic fit really supports your anatomy and this, combined with the flatlock seem construction with mesh panels, eliminated any chafing on my hike. The tech fabric really breaths & helped keep me dry, and the functional fly is easy to use — which is important on trails! The slightly longer cut helps prevent ride up. Also, in case you wondered, Jockey's anti-stink coating really does work! Last but not least, the waistband never rolls — retaining its fit & shape even after hours of strenuous use. Honestly, these are perfect for any time-intensive outdoor activity where you want high performance & support without constriction such as hiking, camping, rock climbing and so on!
I got these a few weeks ago and have worn them while working out. They kept from gathering and bunching through doing weights and running on a treadmill. The waistband features the Jockey logo circling all the way around. These provide full coverage and are made of very soft material. Also provides all the support you'll need during whatever activity you are doing and would be ideal for daily wear.
These boxer briefs fit well and look good, according to my wife anyways. They are a great upgrade from all cotton underwear and have not lost any shape or elasticity after a few washes. I live in the Southern US and things can get a little swampy, but these briefs breathe well. They definitely have a place in the rotation.
I have worn these Outdoor Midway briefs for both hiking and everyday. The material is fantastic: I kept me dry and cool. They have a great fit on your thighs giving support without too much compression. They also stay in place on your thighs. The pouch offers moderate and secure support. The waist band is comfortable but it could be a bit more firm. While the waistband stayed in place for hiking, when I wore them for everyday (getting up and down many times a day) it did slid down a bit. Would buy again because of the great quality of fabric and the fit on the thighs.
I usually ware briefs. Tried this long legged style. Really liked them. Very comfortable, great support. Great for around the house and no need to put on pants if someone comes to the door since they look like shorts.
I ordered a set of these for a campaign trip in mind and they worked out great. They stayed nicely on my legs without riding up even after a long day of hiking. The wicking material was nice as I worked up a sweat. My only request would have been more space to the front pouch, its a little snug if you're a larger guy, and a no fly front. Besides that they were a great fit. I'll probably order a shirt in the same material to try next.
I purchased the Outdoor Midway Brief last week. The inseam for the Outdoor Midway Brief measures 8 inches from the crouch to the bottom of the bottom of the leg. A word of warning for everyone though. Jockey states it has a full rise but it is NOT! It is only a MIDRISE. For people who want a full rise this is a big deal.
